NEW CHAIRMAN OF THE HIGH COUNCIL OF FRENCH NOTARIAT

Aims to increase the number of notaires and promote the use of the authentic instrument.

Benoit Renaud, a 46 year old notaire from Lunéville (Meurthe-et-Moselle département), was elected Chairman of the High Council of French Notariat at the General Meeting that was held on 26 and 27 October 2010.

Benoit Renaud has several projects planned for his two year, non-renewable, term in office.

Firstly he wishes to increase the number of notaires. "Ten years ago there were 25% fewer notaires, I hope to increase this trend". Legal instruments are more and more complicated to draft. Therefore we need more notaires to meet the challenges of social change. The status of salaried notaires also needs to be enhanced, as part and parcel of this process.

His second goal is to enhance the image of the notarial profession. In the course of numerous discussions with the public authorities about the bill that is intended to modernise the legal professions, Benoit Renaud became aware of a widespread ignorance of the role of the notaire and the value of the authentic instrument. He now wishes to make people more aware of the specific role of the notaire and encourage the cross-border acceptance of the
authentic instrument in Europe.

Thirdly he wishes to place the electronic authentic instrument at the heart of the secure dematerialisation revolution, which will also see a shift towards the remote electronic management of client´s files. Both of these developments form part of the Notaires de France Horizon 2020 project, which is intended to commit the profession to a process of radical change in order to ensure its long term survival.

Tiene como objetivo aumentar el número de notarios y promover el uso de la documento público.

Benoit Renaud, es un abogado de 46 años de edad de Lunéville (departamento de Meurthe-et-Moselle) WS, fue elegido como Presidente del Consejo Superior de Notariado francés en la reunión general que tuvo lugar el 26 y 27 de octubre de 2010.

Benoit Renaud tiene varios proyectos previstos, en primer lugar,  desea  aumentar el número de notarios; su segundo objetivo es mejorar la imagen de la profesión notarial; y en tercer lugar desea colocar el instrumento electrónico  auténtico en el corazón de la seguridad.
